The Faculty of Civil Engineering at Sharif University of Technology was established in 1971. During the first ten years, the undergraduate and graduate programs focused primarily on structural engineering. However, starting in 1982, research programs for both undergraduate and graduate levels expanded into other areas of civil engineering. Currently, the Faculty of Civil Engineering boasts over 40 faculty members, 491 graduate students, and 439 undergraduate students. The faculty offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs in eight fields: Structural Engineering, Environmental and Water Resources Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Earthquake Engineering, Hydraulic Structures, and Construction Engineering and Management. These programs are designed to address recent scientific advancements and emphasize the specific needs of developing countries, particularly Iran.
