Laboratory Introduction

The Building Materials and Concrete Technology Laboratory is one of the specialized units of the Civil Engineering Department, operating under the supervision of Dr. Hatef Abdoos since Fall 2025. The main purpose of this laboratory is to provide educational support for the undergraduate course “Building Materials and Concrete Technology” as well as to offer research services to graduate students. Each year, approximately 80 students use this laboratory through practical courses, and 10 master’s and PhD students benefit from its facilities for research projects. By providing the necessary materials, adhering to safety standards, and continuously updating equipment, the laboratory offers a dynamic environment for education and research in the field of concrete and building materials.

Considering the extensive use of this laboratory by structural/earthquake engineering faculty members, and in some cases by faculty from other groups, significant efforts have been made to ensure that all devices maintain the required capabilities for continuous use by students in educational activities as well as by students and faculty in research projects. These efforts have been implemented despite financial constraints and limited space.
