Earthquake Engineering Research Center

To leverage the scientific and technical expertise of Sharif University of Technology in addressing the growing risk of earthquakes and advancing the knowledge of the engineering community, the Earthquake Engineering Research Center was established at Sharif University. One of the core components of this center is the earthquake simulation system, or shaking table. The equipment and control systems for this table were purchased from Instron-Schwing (IST), Germany, while the design and supervision of the table deck construction were carried out by the faculty members of the Civil Engineering Department, and the deck was manufactured in Iran.
