Laboratory Introduction
In this laboratory, educational activities for undergraduate students as well as research and investigative activities for master’s and PhD students are conducted. The laboratory is equipped for bitumen and asphalt testing and production and is commonly referred to as the Superpave Research Laboratory, with its most important device being the Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR). This device evaluates and calculates the rheological behavior of bitumen at medium and high temperatures.
The Superpave Research Laboratory began its activities in 2004 under the umbrella of the Bitumen and Asphalt Laboratories of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Sharif University of Technology. Its advanced equipment provides an appropriate platform for researchers and graduate students
