Laboratory Introduction
The Asphalt and Bitumen Laboratory of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Sharif University of Technology has been in operation since 1992. The laboratory’s modern testing equipment provides an appropriate platform for conducting research activities in the field of bitumen and asphalt for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students. This laboratory is also used for holding the undergraduate Bitumen and Asphalt Laboratory courses.
The capabilities of the Asphalt and Bitumen Laboratory are generally divided into two main categories: tests related to the properties of bitumen (such as bitumen grading) and tests related to the properties of asphalt mixtures (such as mix design).
